Laura Commons

A proven leader for District 2

Laura Flores Commons has spent more than two decades as a Realtor serving Coastal Bend families, while giving her time to the city’s Water Conservation Committee, Ethics Commission, Human Relations Commission, and Landmark Commission. She knows District 2, she’s already done the work of public service, and she’s ready to bring practical, service-driven leadership to City Hall.

On November 3, the choice is clear: Laura Flores Commons for District 2.

Sustainable Growth

Commons supports pairing responsible growth in District 2 with the infrastructure and public safety investment needed to keep pace with it.

Water Security

As a former appointee to the city's Water Conservation Committee who helped rewrite Corpus Christi's water conservation plan, Commons brings hands-on experience securing our region's water future — not just campaign talk.

Local Leadership

A District 2 resident for more than 20 years, Commons has spent her career serving her neighbors, including nine years on the board of CASA of the Coastal Bend, two of them as president, and service on three separate city commissions.

Infrastructure & Planning

Commons is running on a platform of reliable infrastructure for District 2, paired with strong support for CCPD and Corpus Christi Fire Department staffing and resources.

Why District 2 needs Laura Flores Commons.

Laura Flores Commons grew up in Corpus Christi and has lived in District 2’s Pope Place neighborhood for more than 20 years. Her more than two-decade career as a Realtor has given her a close, ground-level view of the district’s growth and housing needs — the kind of practical, on-the-ground perspective that comes from doing the work, not just studying it from a distance.

District 2 needs a representative who has already done the work of public service — not someone learning city government from scratch. With water security, infrastructure, and public safety staffing all on the ballot this November, Commons’s committee experience means she can contribute from day one.

Commons has already put in the work at City Hall. She was appointed to the city’s Water Conservation Committee, where she helped rewrite the city’s water conservation plan, and she has served on the Ethics Commission, chaired the Human Relations Commission, and chaired the Landmark Commission. Beyond City Hall, she has spent nine years on the board of CASA of the Coastal Bend, including two years as its president, and has supported the American Heart Association and Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Without a councilmember with real committee experience and community roots, District 2 risks a representative more focused on headlines than results. Laura Flores Commons has spent her career and her volunteer time showing up for her neighbors. The Coalition is confident she’ll bring that same dedication to the council.

“City council was never meant to be entertainment. We need people who just want to put their head down and get the work done.”
